How Does Outmin Connect to Sales Data and POS Systems?
How we access sales data from different POS platforms and what we need from you
To keep your client’s books accurate and their reports reliable, we need access to sales data. How we get that data depends on the systems they use.
We’ll confirm this during onboarding, but here’s how it works across different scenarios:
1. Online POS Systems
Examples: Square, Deliveroo, Stripe, etc.
How it works:
- We ask to be added as a user with our Outmin proxy email
- Once added, we access and pull sales reports directly
- This keeps sales data flowing in automatically
What we need from you
- Help confirm what platforms your client uses
- Support them in adding our Outmin user
2. Local POS or Software-Based Systems
Examples: EPOS Now, Lightspeed
How it works:
- If we can’t log in, we ask the client to set up automated sales report emails
- These are sent weekly to their unique Outmin inbox
- We review a sample first to make sure the format works
What we need from you
- Identify if the client uses local POS
- Guide them in setting up email forwarding
- Encourage them to send a sample report for validation
3. Sales Invoicing Systems
Examples: Xero, QuickBooks, or custom tools
How it works:
- If we already have access through bookkeeping setup, we’ll use that
- Otherwise, we request user access via our proxy email
- We check if they’ll switch to Outmin’s invoicing tool or continue with their own
What we need from you
- Clarify what invoicing system the client uses
- Grant user access if needed
